Calendar, Events, and Prayer Concerns

Parish Food Pantry- During the year we designate two months to collect food for our Parish Food Pantry.

May is our collection month. If you would like to make a donation, here is a list of items: canned fruit, vegetables,

or meats, breakfast items, pinto beans, soup and Jiffy cornbread. All these items will help fill the bags we give

out each month. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please mark check outreach. Thank you so much

for all your support for St John’s Outreach Ministry.

Clothes Closet – We will not be taking any more clothes for Saints Clothing Closet until August. Thanks for

your continued support of this Outreach Ministry.

Tryon Resolves Daughters of the American Revolution is sponsoring a community drive for gently used

clothing, household items, jewelry, books, etc. to benefit the Blair Fraley Resale Store at Crossnore Communities

for Children in Crossnore, NC. Cherryville Fire Department will be collecting May 19 thru May 27. Please pack

items in bags or boxes. Crossnore Communities for Children is a Christian sanctuary of hope and healing for

children who have experienced abuse or other trauma in their lives. Drop off the items at the Cherryville

Fire Department!

Celebration Luncheon – Thanks to a truly generous gift from the estate of Jack Davis, a faithful member of

St. John's, we have been able to pay off the mortgage for our HVAC system in full. Make plans now to join us for

a Catered Luncheon following Worship on Sunday, June 1. We will be celebrating paying of the HVAC Loan.

First Presbyterian Church will have a Blood Drive on Thursday, May 29 from 2:30 pm til 6:30 pm in the

Fellowship Hall. For more information there is a flyer posted on the bulletin board outside of the Church Office.

Upcoming Events

Save the Date: St. John’s Lutheran Church Crystal Lovingood Memorial Golf Tournament will be

held on Friday, September 5 at Deer Brook Golf Course in Shelby. Shotgun Start at 1:00 pm. More details to come
