News For the Week

WELCA will be collecting Pennies for Hope during September and October. The money collected will be

for the North Carolina Diaper Bank. Collection jars are at both side entrances.

Cherryville High School Concession Stand Volunteers Needed – St. John’s Lutheran Church will be

working the Concession Stand for the Cherryville High School Football Game on Friday, October 24. We need 6

to 8 volunteers. You will need to be at Rudisill Stadium at 6 pm. If you would like to volunteer, please see Wayne

Thom to sign up. If you have a St. John’s Lutheran Church T Shirt you can wear it.

SW Conference Reformation Service will be held on Sunday, October 26 at 4 pm at Emmanuel Lutheran

Church in Lincolnton. Special Highlights -Performances by combined area choirs; Vibrant instrumental music;

a spirit-filled message by Bishop Emily Hartner. Make plans now to attend.

Trunk or Treat will be held on Friday, October 31 from 5 to 7 pm. We are starting to collect bags of candy, so

if you are at Sams, Walmart, or Costco shopping and would like to pick up a bag, you can drop it off in the Church

Office. If you would like to decorate your car or a table, please contact the Church Office. Thanks!

First Presbyterian Church Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, October 2 from 2:30 pm til 6:30 pm in

the Fellowship Hall, 107 W Academy Street, Cherryville. To make an appointment or for more information please
